Eric Morgan, Angel Investor
Eric Morgan is the angel investor, mentor and experienced leader of the company; he is also the father of John Paul and Nicolas Morgan. He has 36 years of global management consulting and information technology experience, including significant experience in the global energy sector. His management background includes being the Managing Partner for Ernst & Young Consulting Canada, CEO of Capgemini Ernst & Young Canada and, CEO of Capgemini Spain, Portugal and Latin America. Among his clients and contacts are some of the largest energy companies in the world. He is currently providing the strategic leadership required by the business.
John Paul Morgan, Chief Technology Officer
John Paul Morgan is the inventor and senior designer of Morgan Solar’s patented concentrating solar PV technology. He earned a Masters degree in Applied Science from the University of Toronto, where he specialized in optics, condensed matter and medical imaging. His previous work experience includes collaborating on the design of a space telescope, and inventing fibre optics solutions for the telecommunications industry. He first became interested in making solar power significantly less expensive while volunteering for Doctors Without Borders in the Congo, where he saw the enormous potential for clean, affordable electricity to improve people’s lives.
Nicolas Morgan, VP Business Development & Marketing
Nicolas Morgan heads the business development and marketing team at Morgan Solar. He holds a Bachelor of Social Science in Anthropology and a post-graduate degree in Applied Information Technology. Before coming to Morgan Solar at the start of 2008, Nicolas spent two years in Spain as a senior manager for FON Technologies, a Web 2.0 start-up. At FON, Nicolas coordinated the activities of business development teams in Europe, North America and Asia. In this role he gained extensive experience marketing for start ups, managing sales and partnership processes and managing project teams. Prior to this, Nicolas worked at Ernst & Young as a risk management advisor, specializing in the electricity sector.
